We want runners of all abilities – first timers, charity runners, club and elite. Take up the challenge!

Race Becomes Spire Healthcare English Half Marathon

Spire Cheshire Hospital is delighted to be the title sponsor of this year’s English Half Marathon in Warrington on Sunday 18 September.

Andy Eadsforth, Hospital Director at Spire Cheshire Hospital said ‘This is a great event for us be involved in – an event which brings together both our local community as well as attracting visitors from around the UK to our town.

My team and our consultants are really excited about how they will be able to get involved in the English Half Marathon – some will be running and raising money for their favourite charities, others will be volunteering with marshalling or manning water stations on the day. It’s a fabulous opportunity for us all to do something!

Many of our patients come to see our orthopaedic consultants and physiotherapists as a result of injuries they’ve sustained during their sporting activities so we’ll also be able to offer expert advice to the runners on how to avoid injury, get fit and stay healthy during their training for the English Half Marathon.’

Look out for English Half Marathon runner offers from Spire Cheshire Hospital in the coming weeks.

Spire Cheshire Hospital is part of Spire Healthcare which is a leading provider of private healthcare, with 37 private hospitals throughout the UK. Spire Healthcare offers the highest quality of patient care and has earned a reputation as a leader in its field treating over 930,000 patients per year.

Paul Gallon, General Manager of the Park Royal Hotel commented: “QHotels and The Park Royal are delighted to be the sponsors of the Corporate Challenge. This is a great event for both Warrington and for all the charities who benefit from the fundraising efforts of the participants. In the last two years alone over £300,000 has been raised for hundreds of charities and I hope that once again businesses around Warrington will rise to the challenge and enter their teams into the race. It is a great opportunity to use fitness as a team building incentive and at the same time raise much needed funds for many deserving causes. The QHotels charity of choice for 2011 is Asthma UK so I have decided to bite the bullet and have signed up to be part of The Park Royal Team and hopefully complete my first ever half marathon – now I guess I need to get down the gym and start training!”.
